Kintera- (DWB/CRGL) is a newly merged consulting firm specializing in environmental, engineering, forestry and GIS services and solutions. With a close-knit team, a diverse client base, and a strong reputation for quality and service, the company operates offices throughout all of British Columbia.

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative GIS Manager to lead our GIS / SaaS development team and help shape the next generation of our web mapping applications. In this position, you will guide a talented group of GIS Developers, support the delivery of high‑quality mapping solutions, and play a hands‑on role in the development, maintenance, and evolution of our GIS platform.

This is an opportunity to have real influence in a small but expanding team. Your leadership, technical expertise, and client‑focused approach will directly impact the tools and systems our clients rely on. This position is located in North Vancouver, BC.

Duties

As a GIS Manager at Kintera, you will be guiding a diverse team and applying your skills in coding and GIS to help build and maintain web mapping systems. In this role you will primarily be responsible for the following:

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting a diverse team of GIS / SaaS Developers.
  • Overseeing project budgets, workflows, priorities, timelines and quality assurance.
  • Meeting with clients to gather requirements, clarify objectives, and understand workflows.
  • Translating business needs into technical specifications, data models, and application designs.
  • Communicating technical concepts in clear, accessible language tailored to nontechnical audiences.
  • Overseeing the creation and testing of ArcGIS Online maps and applications.
  • Guiding development of tools and automation using Python, SQL, JavaScript, or Arcade.
  • Helping troubleshoot issues related to GIS workflows and web‑based mapping systems.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in GIS with a background in Geography, Computer Science, or other relevant area
  • Significant experience in GIS, including web‑mapping work
  • 2+ years of experience leading GIS staff or projects and managing budgets
  • Experience developing tools on Esri platforms
  • Relational database experience, especially with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, will be considered an asset
  • Experience programming and scripting using Python, SQL, JavaScript, or Arcade
  • Strong understanding of spatial data standards and effective map design
  • Strong reasoning and troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
