We are seeking applications for a full-time Forestry Project Lead based out of our Prince George office. The ideal Candidate will manage full-phase cutting permit development project and take on a combination of office and field-based responsibilities. This position is available for an immediate start.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $28- $34 per hour; pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Duties
The Immediate responsibilities for the Project Lead will include:
- Managing project deliverables to clients and ensuring projects meet timeline expectations.
- Conducting field work including timber reconnaissance, site plan data collection, riparian assessments, visual impact assessments, species at risk assessments, and quality audits of various field work components.
- Office work may include developing pre-works, summarizing field data, report writing, creating site plans, completing appraisals, cutting permit submissions and other permitting as required.
- Supervising field crews.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree or Technical Diploma in Forestry or Natural Resource Management preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant forest experience, such as layout, cruising, riparian, site plan development or silviculture.
- Candidates registered, or eligible for registration, with the Forest Professionals of BC as an RPF or RFT are preferred.
- Experience in Forest planning and or permitting is considered an asset.
- Supervisory experience and the ability to mentor junior field staff will be preferred.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
