This project was completed for Allegiance Coal Limited over the period of 2017 – 2019. Phase 1 consisted of concept level road and bridge designs for mine access and haul roads for large and small scale mine configurations for a proposed coal mine near Telkwa, BC. Phase 2 consisted of a feasibility level road and bridge design for the alignment chosen from the Phase 1 work. This included field reconnaissance to optimize road layout, geometric design of 16 km of mine access road using LiDAR data, detailed design of a 30.48 m steel girder/concrete composite deck bridge over Goathorn Creek, preparation of a construction schedule, and a Class 3 construction cost estimate.
